Click for more information Q: What is Specific Chiropractic?
A:
Specific Chiropractic is a specialty within the field of chiropractic. The "Specific" Chiropractor, Brain Stem Specialist, specializes in the upper cervical C1, C2 area of the spine thus allowing care for a more severe and a wider range of conditions.

It is a well known fact that the upper cervical spine surrounds the lower portion of the Brain Stem. This level of the Brain Stem is considered the master control switch of the entire nervous system. The "Specific" Chiropractor is highly trained to monitor the functional ability of this level of the nervous system and correct any interference to its normal function.

A subluxation of one of the top two bones in the neck can cause nerve interference (pressure) affecting any, many or all parts of the body.

Q: What is a "Subluxation"?
A:
The upper 2 bones, C-1 & C-2 or those right under the head, are held only by muscles and ligaments, as there are no bony locks on these segments. These two can be moved subluxated out of their normal range through accidental means and can cause a pressure on the brain stem. This is the cause of sickness or dis-ease in each body – the symptoms depending entirely on which nerve tracks are squeezed or pressed interrupting the normal flow of energy or mental impulse from the brain stem (medulla oblongata) to the body. Please refer to our Diagram Above.

Q: What causes the "Subluxation"?
A:
The subluxation can be caused by any one or combination of three factors:
  1. Physical Trauma
i.e.. a minor fender bender while driving, a slip and fall accident, hospital birth process, most contact sports
  2. Mental Stress
i.e.. work related stress, psychological stress
  3. Toxins
i.e.. drugs (prescription/over-the-counter), food related toxins (aspartame, nutrasweet, pesticides, additives, preservatives)
A subluxation can exist for many years without detection. The Symptoms are the last aspect of any disease process to show up.

Q: How do you correct the Subluxation?
A:
The [Specific Adjustment] corrects the Subluxation by gently moving, by hand only, the subluxated bone back to its normal position, correcting the compression interference to the nerve system, brain-stem. The normal natural mental impulse nerve transmission is restored. This restoration of normal mental impulse nerve transmission allows the signals generated in the brain to once again reach the organ, muscle or tissue at 100% capacity. see Safety Pin Cycle

The body is now able to rebuild itself, restoring normal function, correcting any and all symptoms and/or pathology as a result.

Q: How can I tell if I have a Subluxation?
A:
Unlike knowing when you are hungry or when you are tired, you can't tell if you have a subluxation by how you feel. The Specific Chiropractor (Brainstem Specialist) has very sensitive instruments (Thermoscribe) designed by scientists from NASA and the Kale Research Council to detect when the subluxation is present.

In the upper cervical, brainstem, area of the nerve system there is no sensation associated with the nerve tissue. Therefore, if the Atlas or Axis (C1 or C2) are compressing the brainstem - you can't feel it.

Just as you can't feel when you have a subluxation neither can anyone else "feel" with their hands or any other manual method. By using specially designed instruments like the Thermoscribe, the Specific Chiropractor knows, does not guess, when an adjustment is necessary.

Click for more information Q: What can Specific Chiropractic help?
A:
No matter what the name of your Dis-ease, it must have a cause. By specializing in the upper cervical brain stem area, the Specific Chiropractor, Brain Stem Specialist is working with the area of the nerve system that controls the entire nerve system. Science has linked more than 5,000 different conditions to a malfunction of the brain stem. Please refer to the Specific Chiropractic Research Chart. Specific Chiropractic has helped patients even when other "treatments" have failed.

Q: How do I know if Specific Chiropractic can help me?
A:
If you have a subluxation and ........
  • are taking medication, including Aspiring and Tylenol
  • have suffered from a trauma, i.e.. slip/fall, car accident,...
  • suffer from one or more of the conditions listed in the Specific Chiropractic Research Chart
you may be helped. Only a Specific Chiropractor can tell if Specific Chiropractic can help you.

Q: How old do you need to be to become a Specific Chiropractic patient?
    A:
Sickness and Dis-ease does not discriminate by age. Today more children are taking prescription drugs than ever in history. The Specific Chiropractor is highly trained in adjusting everyone Infant to Elderly. Babies and children have much the same spinal composition as an adult. The sooner the subluxation is detected and corrected the sooner the individual will regain and maintain optimal health. We are born with a fully functional spine. It only makes sense to have it checked early in life to ensure proper development and prevent future problems. Prevention just makes sense.

Q: Once I start going to a Specific Chiropractor, do I have to keep going my entire life?
    A:
Many people don't go to their Specific Chiropractor until their is a serious problem necessitating frequent visits for a short period of time. The goal of Specific Chiropractic is to find and correct the cause of your problem in such a manner that it does not come back. Once that has been accomplished, maintenance care check-ups are recommended. This may consist of, for example, once a month visits to make sure those bones are where they belong and to prevent future problems from ever showing up.

We are told to brush our teeth twice a day, floss once a day and visit the dentist every 6 months for a check up and cleaning. We do all this to maintain our teeth.

Specific Chiropractic is designed to maintain your spine. Unlike getting dentures for your teeth, if your spine wears out you won't be able to get a new one.

Q: My pain is in my low back, why adjust only my neck?
    A:
The Specific Chiropractor goes to the source of the pain. Through the upper cervical spine passes EVERY nerve in your body, including the nerves that go down into the low back. A subluxation of C1 or C2 can cause nerve interference (pressure) to the very same nerves that exit the spinal column and innervate the muscles and ligaments of your low back.

You can not feel the pain at the point of nerve interference due to the lack of sensation associated with the Brain Stem. By finding and correcting THE cause of your low back pain the Specific Chiropractor can acheive Permanent correction. These procedures make it possible to eliminate the chances of your pain returning. Please refer to our Research Chart for details on our success rate with low back pain.
